Capacitor Banks

Capacitor Banks Picture Capacitors help adjust the power factor and voltage on the distribution circuit and allow electricity to be distributed more efficiently.

They can be remotely controlled and switched into and out of the distribution system as needed. Some capacitor banks are controlled with temperature switches so that if the temperature exceeds a certain value, the capacitor bank is automatically switched into the circuit. Some capacitor banks are set on time clock switches to automatically be connected and disconnected to the distribution system during pre-determined times. Typically this corresponds to the operation of a large factory or some other load with a low power factor.
