Blinking Solutions - Environment

Electrical power interruptions of less than one second can cause the loss of time in a digital clock or the loss of programming memory in either a VCR or microwave oven.

Because the blinking clocks or other digital displays on VCR's and microwaves, are not caused by voltage surges, lightning arrestors and surge suppressors will not prevent the loss of data. Investing in electrical equipment that have back-up power features, will help in avoiding this problem.

Many digital clocks and VCRs now have on-board batteries to ride through momentary outages.
