Energy Conservation

Energy conservation is the effort we make to reduce the consumption of energy by using less of an energy resource or service, and transitioning to clean, renewable energy. We are always looking for ways to conserve our non-renewable energy resources, like natural gas and oil. Non-renewable means that there is a limited supply. By using renewable fuels like water for hydropower, and sunlight for solar power, or alternative fuel sources like ethanol, hydrogen, vegetable oil, and biomass, we can help conserve our natural resources, so they don't run out.

By changing our behaviors, and doing things like not using as much water to shower, sharing rides to school or work, even purchasing an electric or hybrid vehicle, you can help conserve these precious resources and help keep the environment cleaner.

Conserve energy in your home by turning off lights when you leave, or use a programmable or smart thermostat are simple ways to save energy.
